This high Resolution day night digital camera with its Sony Super Had CCD color camera 560 Lines of resolution. This camera will work in almost any outdoor or indoor security camera location.  The IR will allow for up to 90 feet view in the dark! This depends on scene reflection. If you are in an open field with the camera pointing at nothing the view will be limited. If you are  looking down a side walk you will have a better range due to the walls and the cars and other misc items that will help to reflect the IR illumination.
